Athletic Therapy

by Resilience Sports Therapy

What Is Athletic Therapy?

Athletic therapy focuses on the effective treatment of musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries using a mix of on-site care, injury assessment, and active rehabilitation. Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care.

What Does An Athletic Therapist Do?

Recognize, assess, manage, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries. Initiate, design, and implement specialized therapy programs. Observe and analyze patients during treatment sessions. Use physical therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities to recondition musculoskeletal injuries. Certified by the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA), Athletic therapists adhere to sounds practices and provide a consistent level of care and aim to rehabilitate clients over the course of treatment.
